Friday Facts – September 16, 2011

Regarding illegal aliens in the US it appears the White House position of wearing selective blinders keeps filtering through to other “government employees.”

First, we have the head of the Department of Labor developing programs to “protect” the “rights” of illegals in the work place – where they aren’t supposed to be. Details…

Second, we have President Obama telling La Raza that he wishes he could just arbitrarily grant illegals amnesty but he can’t because Congress needs to have a word. Then he blindsides Congress with his “prosecutorial discretion” – which makes Obama’s Hispanic buddies happy, by doing exactly what he said he wasn’t going to do. Hypocrite.

Third, we have a statement from Cecelia Munoz, the White House Director of intergovernmental affairs, (whatever that means) saying that the federal crime of being in the US illegally is comparable to the “crime” of jaywalking – which is bad enough. She then adds this comment:

“Munoz said the administration is acting within its authority – “but we also all understand that even as we use our administrative authority, make the right enforcement judgments, it is not the permanent solution for anybody, it doesn’t solve our immigration problems. In order to do that, we need the Congress of the United States.”

“Enforcement judgments?”

The hypocrisy of this administration and its minions knows no shame. First she applauds the President for using his “discretion” to subvert the will of Congress – representing legal US citizens, and then she says they “need Congress.” Hypocrite.

One needs to know that she was speaking to members of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute at the time and at this same conference, Rep. Gutierrez (D-Ill.) thanked President Obama for by passing Congress when it comes to immigration. Read more…

One can only hope that the people of the State of Illinois who voted for Gutierrez are happy to read that he is thanking the President for denying Congress input – on something they voted down in December 2010 – the DREAM Act. Why is Gutierrez so thankful? Because criteria in the voted-down Act is now being used to suit Obama’s “prosecutorial discretion.” To Congress and American citizens, Obama’s latest motto is “Yes, I can. I’ve already been told you don’t want this, and I could give a crap whether you like it or not.”

Expected attitude from a playground bully, but not from the President of the United States. It’s a tragedy for the country that this time around – they are one and the same.
